Muiris Ó Catháin
Muiris, or Maras Mhuris, as he was known was born on the Great Blasket Island in 1873. In the final years of his life he dictated his life-story to Risteard Breatnach, determined to have his story published for posterity like many of his fellow islanders. recorded his life-story, It was published posthumously as Ar Muir is ar Tír, (1991).
