Cromford Mills
Here is a piece commissioned by Tandem Design for Cromford Mills, Derbyshire. http://cromfordmills.org.uk/ It shows the interlocking cotton trade from slave cotton workers in America via mill workers in the north of England who spun the thread and then on to the weavers in India. Here is a step by step of “In the Glade 2”- Charcoal and pastel on paper On the first stage, you can just make out an earlier life drawing that I rubbed out with a soft cloth. The head is over on the left side and it was in portrait format.
